Terms of Service

Version: 2026-10-16 · In force from: publication date

1.1. These terms are an agreement between you and Andrei Brazhnikov, a private person (“we”), about using Metagame.party — the site metagame.party and the web app on it (the “Service”).

1.2. Contact: [email protected]; postal address for correspondence: to be added.

1.3. When you create an account you tick that you accept these terms and the Privacy Notice; we record the version and the time. If you do not agree, do not create an account, or stop using the Service.

2.1. Metagame.party is a tool for game masters and players of tabletop role-playing games: campaigns, character sheets, NPCs, monsters, encounters and initiative, the game master’s materials and notes, dice rolls and a shared live feed.

2.2. Using the Service is free for now. In the future we may introduce paid plans or paid features (for example, more campaigns or more storage for images). We show their price and terms before you pay, and nothing is charged without your explicit consent. We announce paid plans and changes to what is free in advance (section 11.2).

2.3. We may add, change and remove features, and introduce and change limits (number of campaigns, characters, storage, etc.). We announce changes that affect your data in advance; lowering a limit does not delete what you already keep without notice (section 7.2).

3.1. You must be at least 16 years old. By accepting these terms you confirm that you are.

3.2. When sign-up is by invitation, a new account can only be created with a valid invite code. Codes are given by the administrator, who may limit the number of sign-ups, the period and the set of limits. Do not sell codes or publish them where the administrator did not ask you to.

3.3. One account is for one person. Do not share access to it.

4.1. You can sign in with a username and password, and with Google or Discord where they are on. Sign-in methods can be linked and unlinked in the profile, but the last one cannot be unlinked.

4.2. You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for what is done under your account. If you suspect that someone got access to it, change the password and write to us.

4.3. Give truthful details where the Service needs them (for example, an e-mail to recover access).

5.1. You keep all rights to what you create and upload: texts, characters, notes, maps, images and the rest (“Content”). We claim no ownership of it.

5.2. So that the Service can work, you give us a non-exclusive, free licence to store, copy (including into backups), process and display your Content — only to you and to the campaign members who may see it under the campaign’s rules, and only while it is kept in the Service. We do not publish your Content and do not use it for advertising or for training models.

5.3. Campaigns are private. A campaign’s Content is seen only by its members within their roles. We do not pre-screen or moderate Content; the administrator opens it only for the reasons listed in the Privacy Notice (section 5).

5.4. The game master is responsible for their campaign: for what they upload and show to the players, and for whom they invite. Each member is responsible for what they add themselves.

5.5. You confirm that you hold the rights to the Content you upload or that its use is lawful. Private use of other people’s materials in a closed game is your responsibility; distributing them publicly through the Service is not allowed.

5.6. Keep your own copies of what matters: a game master can export a campaign.

When using the Service you must not:

  • break the law, including posting illegal content (child sexual abuse material, incitement to violence or terrorism, etc.);
  • publicly distribute material that infringes copyright or other rights of third parties;
  • harass, threaten or abuse other members, or disclose other people’s personal data;
  • upload malicious code, attack or overload the Service, or look for and exploit vulnerabilities (if you find one, just write to us);
  • access other people’s accounts or campaigns, or get around limits, invitations or technical restrictions;
  • create accounts automatically, scrape data in bulk, or use the Service for spam;
  • impersonate another person or the Service’s administration.

7.1. Accounts have limits (number of campaigns, characters, NPCs, storage, etc.). The current limits are shown in the profile. The administrator may give single accounts other limits, including through invite codes.

7.2. If a limit is lowered below what you already keep, we do not delete existing Content without notice — you just cannot add more beyond the limit.

8.1. If you believe that content in the Service is illegal or infringes your rights (for example, copyright), write to [email protected]. Include:

  • why you consider the content illegal or infringing;
  • where it is (a link, the name of the campaign or page — as exactly as you can);
  • your name and e-mail (except for reports of child sexual abuse material, which may be anonymous);
  • a statement that you believe in good faith that the information in the notice is accurate and complete;
  • for copyright complaints, that you are the rights holder or act on their behalf.

8.2. We handle notices without undue delay and, where a notice is substantiated, remove the content or restrict access to it. To check a notice, the administrator may open the content it names; every view and every removal is recorded with its reason (Privacy Notice, section 5). We tell the sender what we decided, and the author of the content what we did and why, unless the law forbids it.

8.3. If you disagree with a decision about your content or your notice, write to us within 6 months and we will review it. This does not take away your right to go to court.

8.4. We may block accounts that repeatedly post manifestly illegal content.

9.1. You may stop using the Service at any time and ask for your account to be deleted (Privacy Notice, section 7).

9.2. We may suspend or block an account that breaks these terms or the law, or threatens the security of the Service or of other users. We give the reason and, where reasonable, warn first. An account blocked by mistake is restored on request.

9.3. We may close the Service as a whole with at least 30 days’ notice, giving you the chance to export your campaigns.

10.1. The Service is provided “as is”: we work to keep it stable and your data safe, but we do not promise uninterrupted operation, the absence of errors or the preservation of data.

10.2. We are not liable for indirect damage or lost profits, for loss of data you could have prevented by keeping your own copy, or for Content posted by other users.

10.3. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for intent or gross negligence, for harm to life or health, or where the law does not allow it to be limited, and nothing takes away the rights consumer protection law gives you.

11.1. We may change these terms — for example, when new features arrive. The current version and date are always at the top.

11.2. We announce significant changes in advance, at least 14 days before they take effect, on the site and in the app; if your account has an e-mail, we may also write to it. At your first sign-in after the changes take effect you see the new version; you need to accept it to go on using the Service. If you do not agree, you may stop using the Service and ask for your account to be deleted.

12.1. These terms are governed by Greek law. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you keep the mandatory rights the law of that country gives you.

12.2. We first try to settle disputes by writing to each other: write to [email protected]. If that fails, the competent court of Greece decides; this does not take away a consumer’s right to go to the court of their place of residence where the law allows it.

13.1. If any provision is found invalid, the rest remain in force.

13.2. These terms are written in English and Russian; the English version prevails if they differ.

14.1. The Service is in a closed beta until we announce its end. While the beta lasts, this section applies in addition to the rest of the terms; where they differ, this section prevails.

14.2. Sign-up is by invitation only (section 3.2). While the beta lasts, everything is free.

14.3. Features, limits and the way data is stored change often; failures and interruptions are more likely than usual.

14.4. If moving to a new version requires wiping beta data, we announce it in advance and, where possible, give game masters the chance to export their campaigns first.

14.5. Accounts are deleted on request by e-mail; a button in the profile comes later (Privacy Notice, section 13).

14.6. When the beta ends, this section is removed: you see the new version of the terms at your next sign-in and accept it (section 11). If the beta is closed without moving on to regular operation, section 9.3 applies.
